Bodhi Day, also known as Jodo-e in Japanese, celebrates the awakening of Shakyamuni Buddha. It is observed by Japanese Buddhist traditions annually on December 8th (Rohatsu). Great River Tendai Sangha will hold a Shaka Jodo-e commemoration service on Sunday December 10th, 2017 at 10:00am in our temple space, the upstairs of Yoga in Daily Life, 2402 Mount Vernon Ave in Alexandria VA.
