On Sunday 4/8/2018, we will visit the Nipponzan Myohoji temple in DC. We will not be at Yoga in Daily Life in Alexandria that day. We can coordinate rides if needed.

Celebration of Shakyamuni Buddha's birthday in Japan is called Hanamatsuri, the "Flower Festival", observed annually on April 8th.

Our hosts monastics and Sangha members of Nipponzan Myohoji will be in town from Massachusetts as part of their Annual Walk for a New Spring Peace Walk. They will conduct the Buddha's Birthday service and welcome us for lunch. We will get to practice and socialize with another Japanese Buddhist order that also reveres The Lotus Sutra.

The service will start at 11:00am. If you plan to stay for lunch, please bring some food to share if you can.
