Please join us in-person for a Dharma service in honor of Bodhi Day (Jodo-e), the anniversary of Shakyamuni's enlightenment, and also celebrating winter solstice.
All are welcome to bring shareable snack food offerings. We'll enjoy those refreshments together with hot tea. Please bring your own reusable cup if you can.
The event will be at Nipponzan Myohoji Buddhist Temple in DC, and we are very grateful for use of their space. If able, please offer some dana (donation, practice of generosity); all donations collected at this occasion will go to support Nipponzan Miyohoji, the treasured Dharma friend to our Tendai Sangha.
There will be opportunity for samu (work practice, namely some cleaning before the new year) along with the tea and snacks, so please also offer some of your time and virya (enthusiasm, effort).
The dojo location is reachable by public transit (S2/S9 bus). Parking is on street in the neighborhood.
If joining online by Zoom meeting link, download/view the Great River Tendai Daily Service booklet for the chanting part of the service.
