May Practice

Posted by 288sc on

Gyodo is a Japanese term referring to a wide variety of walking meditation practices, often while chanting mantras or sutras. During this day of practice, we will be hiking a set of forest trails just a few miles beyond the Washington, DC Beltway. The set of trails is laid out in the form of a mandala honoring the Five Wisdom Buddhas (Go Dainyorai).

We will begin at 9:30a with a light breakfast and short talk. The day will include hiking approximately 4 miles of moderately difficult trails and practices (guided meditation & mantras) centering on the Go Dainyorai. We will end no later than 3:00p.
