Great River Tendai Sangha invites you to join us for a

Day-long Retreat: Tendai Teachings and Practices

The retreat will focus on a variety of practices and doctrine unique to Tendai Buddhism. It will be led by Monshin sensei and Shumon sensei of Tendai Buddhist Institute, official North American representative of the Tendai School of Japanese Buddhism and branch of Enryakuji on Mt. Hiei, Japan. The day will include service ritual, meditation, Dharma talks, and group discussion.

Monshin, the abbot (Joshuku) of Jiunzan Tendaiji, our headquarters temple based in upstate New York, will be conducting a refuge taking ceremony (jukai). Please contact Rev. Junsen Nettles if you are interested in taking refuge at this occasion. Anyone who has already taken refuge may renew their commitment to the precepts.

Please bring a vegetarian lunch for yourself and a small snack to share.
A light vegetarian breakfast will be provided.

Suggested Donation - $50. No one will be turned away for inability to pay.
